    Every day in the Bay Area, thousands of seniors struggle to survive in desperate poverty. Most live alone. The skyrocketing cost of food and shelter means they often must choose between buying groceries or paying the rent. 500+ volunteers make sure other seniors can remain self-sufficient and independent in their own homes. Along with nutritious food, the Mercy Brown Bag Program provides a place for seniors to contribute to their community, stay physically active and socialize.

    The East Oakland Collective (EOC) is a member-based community organizing group invested in serving the communities of deep East Oakland by working towards racial and economic equity. With programming in civic engagement and leadership, economic empowerment, neighborhood and transportation planning, and homeless services and solutions, they help amplify underserved communities from the ground up.

    For over 35 years, the Alameda County Food Bank has stood by their unwavering belief that food is a basic human right. They distribute millions of healthy meals every year, and are on the forefront of new approaches to ending hunger and poverty.

    ILSP serves foster youth ages 16-21, and provides a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where youth can receive assistance in academic and employment issues, access to community resources and referrals, and connect with family finding and permanency services through a partnership with the Seneca Family of Agencies.

    They prepare highly qualified guide dogs, provide guide dog readiness skills, and offer programs to empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
